Pond & garden walks
You are welcome to walk around our lake, ponds & gardens
Bring a picnic lunch!
Be sure to allow plenty of time if you want to take in all of Land of the Lotus! We have a 10 acre lake you can walk around - complete with swans, ducks, grebe and bittern. Take your choice of the high track or the low track, both give a grandstand view of the wildlife and water plants. Closer in, there's eight lotus ponds and sinuous banana beds with specialty banana plants.
There are bush walks alongside the streams too - complete with beautiful native bush. Truly a place to go 'forest bathing'! Enjoy the rock formations while you are there - the kids will love the 'goblin's castle'! In the forest you'll see beautiful rock formations created by volcanic eruptions many thousands of years ago, mossy and quiet now with the tall trees around them.
Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view, and there are both shorter and longer walks to suit different fitness levels. Don't forget to check out the playground - if it looks familiar, it has been recycled from McLeod's Bay!
