Yes, lotus can grow in NZ!
At Land of the Lotus there are eight well stocked lotus ponds you can walk around - they are at their best in the summer months from late November to April. There's also tubs of lotus where you can get up close and personal with these ancient, much-revered plants.
If you are keen to give growing your own lotus a try, we have plants and seeds for sale and are happy to advise you. We have everything you'll need - plants, aquatic mix and fertiliser for your plant. Seeds, fertiliser and aquatic mix can be couriered to you; plants are pickup only.
If you're interested in "Blue Lotus" - these are actually blue tropical waterlilies - we have those too, and hardy waterlilies too.
